Our Beloved Community: Why We Stand Together

Diversity
Fatima Khan 5th Grade

Diversity helps us live and grow
It helps us to keep our flow
Without diversity how would we know
How would we know each other
All we know is we are different
Just like Dr. Kind, he helped us know
That we are different and that is cool
Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool
In Columbia, we have diversity
To help our community live and grow
If Columbia didn't have diversity
We would never live in unity
We are near and close because of diversity
Thank you diversity for helping us
To be what we want to be and to be happy!

Diverse Everything
Nuraisya, 4th Grade

There are many diverse people in this world,
Just like my classmates and friends.
We each have our own personality-
Some are fast, some are smart,
Some are curious, some are kind.
We come from many places:
Sudan, Yemen, Pakistan, India,
Iraq,  and Indonesia.
Yet we are all friends.
We are all different-
Different skin tones, different backgrounds,
Different thoughts and talents.
In our community, we create and learn together.
On the outside, we may seem similar,
But inside, we each hold our own story.
We have different races and different religions,
But we share one world and one friendship.
So we do not need to hide who we are-
We can celebrate ourselves.

Diversity is About Me
Musa, 4th Grade

I was asked to write about diversity and realized,
that it has always surrounded me.
My Yemeni mother and Black American father taught me
about peace and harmony.
From Islamic School to EEE, I have grown with a strong community.
My friends come in every color and ethnicity,
and together we create a beautiful mosaic of humanity.
When I grow older, I will be like Martin Luther King or Malcolm X.
When I grow older, I will always advocate for justice and equality.

Columbia's Snowflakes
Ilin 4th 5th Grade

What makes Columbia special, you say?
It's the diversity, that's what.
The people of Columbia are from all sorts of places.
If you come here you will see different faces.
Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or Hindu.
Black, white, red, or blue
From Europe, Australia, Asia, America too.
Every single language we speak
See? Everyone has a different background
No two snowflakes are exactly the same,
Dr. King once said,
"Let no man pull you so low as to hate him"
That means,
No matter who we are,
we are all equal.
We all have our differences.
that's what makes us special.
But that does not stop us from standing holding hands,
Together.

Different Creations
Helen 4th Grade

We are all different creations, and that's what matters.
Whether we are African, Asian, or White American.
We are all brothers and sisters, no matter the religion:
Muslim or Christian, We are all human.
We are a puzzle piece that clicks together.
We are a portrait  of uniqueness.
Without anybody, we are none.
With everybody, WE ARE ONE!

Diversity in Columbia
Gabriel 5th Grade

Diversity is in Columbia
In Columbia there are many cultures
Vacation can lead you to Columbia
Everyone in Columbia is different
Race makes no difference in Columbia
Some people are from different countries
I like that people from all over the world live in Columbia
The soccer field is my favorite place in Columbia
You should come to Columbia too!

Why I love Missouri
Sumayyah 5th Grade

Churches, masjids, synagogues, more
Our diverse community has it all in store.
Love is the only thing we use over here.
United we stand hand in hand
Many of us come from different places and that makes Missouri perfect
Because of our diversity we will get to know one another
Instead of fighting we love and play with each other
And that is why I love Missouri!

We love Palestine!

Kind as my friend from Libya
Strong as my friend from Nigeria
Fast as my friend from Sudan
Generous as my friend from Pakistan
Smart as my friend from India
Honest as my friend from Afghanistan
Tall as my teacher from Yemen
Round as the Earth, big and wide that reminds people diversity is its good side

Title: Diverse World
Author: Leila El-Tayash 4th grade 2023/24

Everything comes in different sizes, shapes, colors, and forms
Just like my friends at school, they are unique and special
They are inspiring and colorful, like Frida Kahlo
They are brave to stand up like Greta and Rosa
We all are different but inside the same
Bringing a different flavor is no shame

Theme - Diversity

Author: Ayden Aliyev 4h grade 2023/24

Diversity means that each person has a different background, like you
and me by valuing our differences and story
it's okay to be shy but don't try to disguise who you really are
We all may look different, but we should stay positive
Difference is what makes it unique

Title: The Differences We All Bring
Author: Marwa Gul Ahmed 4th grade 2023/24

Diversity is no lame
There is no one that is the same
Each person lives a different story
While we learn and grow in glory
With the differences we all bring
We make a beautiful song to sing
Differences shouldn't cause bullying or fear
It should only make us grow near!

Theme: Diversity
Title: Diverse People
Author: Samira 4th grade 2023/24

On the inside, where we cannot see
Is where all uniqueness would be
We are all different but that's okay
What makes us the same is we like to play
We like to bake, rake the lawn, and skate too
What makes us different is the key
What makes us different is our diversity

Theme: Diversity
Title: The Art of Diversity
Author: Muhammad Ashar 4th grade 2023/24

Diversity is a painting
We are made up of many tones of brown, white, pale, ginger, and tan

Title: The Song of Diversity
Author: Aaminah 4th grade 2023/24

Diversity sings all over the world
No one is exact and that uniqueness is a fact
Our hair with different colors and lengths

The melody of diversity dances around
The world is full of differences which make it a fund place to be around

Title: Different But Alike
Author: Abdullah Musbahu 4th grade 2023/24

We might look different, but our hearts beat the same
With different cultures and spoken words, we are unique and diverse
With special names and stories told, we should be thankful for the life we hold
We should love one another and ditch the hate, only love can have a five-star rate
